VALORANT: The Blade of the Ruined King

I was so happy to be able to make the Blade of the Ruined King melee weapon for Valorant's Ruination crossover. Being able to interpret this weapon for Valorant's art style was a really fun challenge, where I was able to freely combine shape language and styles from the League cinematics, in game art, as well as the Riot Forge Ruined King game to achieve a look and style that blended well with the other Ruination weapons we had for the bundle. Naturally we had to do this right and make the full length weapon, but for competitive integrity we also had to make it work so that it wasnt always a long sword, so we decided to break the blade and have the leveled up version be fully ethereal in first person only. This gave us a huge opportunity to play with VFX in first person similar to the guns.
Props to Chris Stone for also helping us for the first time start to incorporate some more sculpted details into our weapons that fit the general League fantasy style but also help push our overall quality bar.
